Your setup, step by step
Build one automation first and test it on your own post before you announce the keyword.
Connect your Instagram account
Sign up free, then connect Instagram with Instagram’s own sign-in. You need a Business or Creator account; no Facebook Page is needed. Askenly uses Instagram’s official API, so your account stays yours.
Choose Deliver something
In Automations, create an automation and pick Deliver something. Choose Comment to DM for a post or Reel, or Story to DM for a Story. Pick the post it runs on, or let it run on any post.
Pick your keyword
Use one short word people can type with one thumb, such as GUIDE or PRESET. Askenly matches it with or without capitals, and you can add a second keyword for common misspellings.
Write the opening DM and add your link
Write the first message once. Your link goes out as a button, so it is easy to tap. Turn on a public comment reply if you want people to see that the DM is on its way.
Add follow to unlock if you want followers
Askenly checks whether the person already follows you. Followers get the link straight away; everyone else gets a Follow button and an I’m following button first.
Publish, then test it
Comment your keyword on the post from another account and check the DM arrives. The automation page shows every run, so you can see what was sent.
Capture: collect emails inside the DM
Optional, on Growth and Scale. Build an email list you own from the comments you already get.
Every email becomes a contact
The address is saved to that person’s contact, next to their Instagram username, so you know which post brought them in.
Anyone can try it
You can fill the builder in on any plan. Publishing it asks you to move to a plan that includes email sequences.
Follow up: an email sequence that stops on a click
After the email is captured, Askenly can send a short sequence: the guide, a useful tip a few days later and then your offer. You write each email once and choose how many days apart they go.
Only a click ends the sequence early, so someone who already acted stops getting reminders. A reply to any email lands in your Inbox, and a STOP reply unsubscribes that address for good.
